Service Description

Story Box supplementary provision offers targeted, structured support for children with additional speech, language, and communication needs within mainstream schools, nurseries and special schools. Sessions are delivered either by a qualified Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) or a highly experienced SLT assistant, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based strategies are implemented consistently. During Story Box Supplementary Provision, children engage with familiar routines and are given opportunities to request, make choices, socially interact, and develop both expressive and receptive language skills - all through interactive storytelling, drama, music, and sensory play. These activities are designed to encourage engagement, motivation, and skill development across a range of communication domains, including turn-taking, joint attention, functional communication, and regulation.
